Web 2.0

The term Web 2.0 was first noted after the O’Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004. It is a term commonly used when talking about the World Wide Web. It’s a trend, which is constantly growing through the World Wide Web, and most notably web design. Web 2.0 consists of communities such as social networking, wikis and blogs, these are known as second-generation communities. These communities help and encourage web users creativity and collaboration through web design.

Informational/Instructional Design

The basic use of both information and instructional design is to help present required information or instructions in an effective and appropriate manner. Graphic designers are the means by which information and instructional designs are created. High-quality examples of such design use the appropriate amount of information as well as visual enhancement, in order deliver the information or message to the appropriate audience.

Interactive Design

Interactive design is mainly associated with systems such as software, electronic and mobile devices. Interactive design deals with the behaviour and interaction of the user to either the product or system. Interactive design and designers use research of the user and their experiences in creating their design, wether it be for a mobile or the web.
